Retail Systems

My journey in the realm of Retail and Payment Systems commenced in 2006, coinciding with TotalEnergies introduction of a novel Point of Sale, Back Office, and Head Office System. In my role as a Business Process owner, I assumed the responsibility of evaluating, tailoring, testing, training, and deploying the system across the TotalEnergies Network.


In 2014, I transitioned into the role of Retail and Convenience Program Manager, a pivotal shift that infused value into TotalEnergies Retail Department. My approach involved harnessing the synergy of diverse business functions to propel retail systems and digital innovation through strategic projects and valuable solutions tailored to the Retail and Convenience domain. I spearheaded projects that revitalized the Retail payment infrastructure for integrated service stations, introducing groundbreaking features such as mobile payments (Zapper, SnapScan, Virgin Spot), Vouchering and Loyalty (wiGroup), click and collect services, and complimentary Wi-Fi (Telkom). Overseeing all aspects of Retail Systems until 2019, I ensured seamless deployment to both new and upgraded service stations.

In 2019, my passion for Retail systems and payments led me to embark on a new path as I entered into a contract with a Swiss-based Fintech company. In this role, I orchestrated and managed expansion projects encompassing hardware devices within the Retail/FMCG Network. These devices encompassed a wide spectrum, from the integration of QR Code Payments on payment devices to the implementation of e-commerce and digital marketing devices (www.inxor.co.za).


In 2020, my journey led me to join Puma Energy, a company equally poised for transformation through the introduction of a new global POS, BOS, and HOS system. Within this environment, I seized the opportunity to meticulously assess a standardized retail system, identify business needs, formulate comprehensive business requirements for development, conduct rigorous testing, and skillfully implement updates for POS, BOS, and HOS releases. My role extended to directing the development, overseeing supervision, and enhancing streamlined business processes, rules, database systems, training resources, and initiating change management strategies for the new POS, BOS, and HOS system.
